CVPS placed third out of twenty camera clubs in the 2022 edition of the "Celebration of Nature" photography competition hosted by the Lions Gate Camera Club. The competition is an annual event, this year in its seventeenth year. The event is designed to encourage excellence in nature photography in a competitive format, for photographers in British Columbia and Yukon Territory. The competition is based on photography in the natural environment with no “hand of man” and minimal post processing. There are 4 categories, botanical, nature, landscape and wildlife.
All images submitted for this competition were judged by a panel of three leading nature photographers completely independent of Lions Gate Camera Club. Our own Judy Johnston garnered first place overall in the Botany category with her image "Sundew Claiming Its Victim". Congratulations to Judy and to all our image makers for contributing to a very successful club entry. Well done!
